All Varuna ePOPers are trained!
Within the Varuna program, we are delighted to see the continuation of the project "Varuna - Sciences of Sustainability" whose objective is to strengthen the dialogue Science / Societies, carried by the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) in Madagascar, via the ePOP initiative.
In Madagascar, after a first training session in Antananarivo in November 2022 for 14 young people from 7 different regions, then a second session in March 2023 in two public high school in Majunga for 9 young people, the whole team was this week at the French High School of Antananarivo to train 12 high school students to audiovisual techniques and biodiversity issues thanks to two eminent researchers: Luciano Andriamaro and Laetitia Bernard.
The objective of these trainings: to mobilize youth, one of the most important vectors to testify about the impacts of biodiversity loss in the daily life of the Indian Ocean populations, through the realization of video capsules.
They will be accompanied for more than 2 years to produce, edit and then broadcast these videos to as many people as possible throughout Madagascar, the Indian Ocean, and beyond!
