Varuna_AMP’s 2nd call for companionship and tutoring and call for Microprojects of Collective Interest

As part of the Varuna Biodiversity Program’s ongoing efforts to protect and preserve marine biodiversity in the south-west Indian Ocean, through the Varuna MPA project, a second call for companionship and tutoring, as well as a call for Microprojects of Collective Interest, has been launched for managers and stakeholders involved in the management of marine areas in the region.

Objective:

Led by Réserves Naturelles de France (RNF) and in partnership with the Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB), this 2nd call aims to encourage coordinated efforts to conserve marine and coastal biodiversity in the region.

Target audience :

Any marine area manager or stakeholder involved in the management of a marine area (Marine Protected Area – MPA, Locally Managed Marine Area – LMMA, Voluntary Marine Conservation Area – VMCA) in the Western Indian Ocean (Union of the Comoros, France (Mayotte, La Réunion, the Eparses Islands), Mauritius (Mauritius and Rodrigues Island), Madagascar and the Seychelles) can apply.

  • Call for companionship and tutoring:

This call is aimed at managers wishing to acquire or deepen knowledge or skills to improve biodiversity conservation and management of their Marine Area.

  • Call for Microprojects of Collective Interest:

This call is aimed at managers seeking support in implementing an innovative or experimental initiative within their Marine Area.

Deadline:

The deadline for applications is March 31, 2024 midnight Reunion time (UTC + 4 : OO).
